 Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Job Description:

VUV Analytics is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for supporting current manufacturing and facilitating the continuous improvement processes associated with the manufacturing methods and processes of the organization.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

Overview: The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and autonomous work environment. This position is responsible for developing solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling.  This position will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; and recommend and implement improvements to production processes and methods.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinates with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Includes maintaining manufacturing BOMs and ECNs.
  • Develops, evaluates and continuously improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication and assembly processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, and quality control standards.
  • Recommends, evaluates and coordinates facilities and equipment requirements. Includes keeping equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides engineering support for production through training, tooling, fixtures and process requirements during the prototype stage of the products.
  • Sources components.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

 

Desired Qualifications: The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.  A minimum of two and preferably five years of experience in an engineering capacity within a manufacturing environment is required. Candidate must demonstrate a strong ability to read Engineering Drawings (including GD&T), Electrical Schematics, and Wiring/Cable Drawings, plus have a basic knowledge of root cause problem solving. Strong computer skills with Solidworks and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Relevant experience in a clean room environment and knowledge of working with high vacuum equipment is desirable.
